Talking therapy is defined as psychological treatments for mental and emotional conditions such as stress, anxiety and depression.
You do not need a diagnosed with a mental health condition to self-refer to therapy.
Talking therapy allows you to explore suppressed feelings, and support in moving forward. The therapist listens and allows you to find your own answers to promote change.
There is no correct topic to discuss in therapy, many issues can be explored including patterns and behaviours, feelings and thoughts, relationships, past traumas, life changing events, avoided thoughts and other conflicts.
The effectiveness of therapy often depends on the individual. There is no 'one size fits all' approach. Reviews will be carried out every 6 sessions to discuss the progress.
